| Face and Neck Lifts (Rhytidectomy) |
 |
The term rhytidectomy comes from the Latin word rhytid, which means wrinkle, and ectomy which means "removal of". Hence, rhytidectomy...commonly known as facelift surgery...it is the removal of wrinkles (lax skin).
A facelift is a surgical procedure designed to improve the most visible signs of the aging process by eliminating excess fat, tightening muscles beneath the skin of the neck, and removing lax skin.
The neck lift removes the soft, wrinkled skin beneath the chin, and the vertical folds on the front of the neck.
There is no magical age to make the decision to have a facelift. The "right" time to have a consultation is when you no longer like what the mirror tells you.
A facelift can do more that improve the appeareance of facial skin. It can be a real boost to one's self-esteem. A facelift can make you look younger, and improve your self confidence. |
