Are you thinking of having cataract surgery sometime soon, but you're unsure what your restrictions are after surgery? Here is a list of my most commonly asked questions:
- What are my restrictions after cataract surgery?
The main restrictions after cataract surgery are no bending over, no water in the operated eye, and no lifting anything over 5 pounds. These restrictions are only for 1 week. After 1 week, there are no restrictions.
- Can I fly the next day?
You can fly as long as you’re not the pilot :)
- Can I drive the next day?
Most patients can drive to their appointment the next day.
- Is it normal to feel pain after cataract surgery?
Most people do not feel pain during or after cataract surgery.
- Do I have to take drops after cataract surgery?
The short answer to this question is yes. We have found that taking certain medications after cataract surgery improve patient outcomes. We provide an easy to follow medication schedule for patients to use.
